If you’ve been following entertainment news at all, you’d know that Tekashi 6ix9ine recently beat Tory Lanez’s Instagram Live record. Tekashi 6ix9ine, following his release from prison, put on a show for fans at home in which he announced a new music video and also explained why he snitched on his former Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods associates.

Before Tekashi beat Tory’s record, Lanez was proud of himself for holding the crown. Hot New Hip Hop recently picked up on a post from Lanez, however, in which he jokingly said maybe it was time to throw in the towel on Quarantine Radio.

As it was previously reported, this past Friday, on the 8th of May, Daniel Hernandez, also known as Tekashi 6ix9ine, returned to the music world alongside a brand new song and music video, “GOOBA.” The YouTube video has since beat Eminem’s prior record for most views in one day.

Regarding what Tory had to say about his defeat, the rapper has been very positive about it. On his Instagram account, Tory wrote, “I was looking at that 2 millslike. WELP…..I’ma head out.” He later clarified that he was kidding.

Tory went on to say that it was great holding on to that record, even if it was only for a short while. As it was noted above, Tekashi 6ix9ine made a splash when he returned to form on his social media, much to the chagrin of other rappers, including Meek Mill and Snoop Dogg.

On the 10th of May, 2020, Todd Malm reported that Tekashi’s new song, “GOOBA,” was a huge hit on social media, especially with the help of his viral Instagram appearence. The more interesting side of the IG Live session, however, was when he explained why he chose to tell the federal government everything they wanted to know.

According to 6ix9ine, he betrayed the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods because there wasn’t much loyalty between them from the start. The rapper claims they slept with his girlfriend behind his back while he was on tour, extorted money from him, and even tried to kidnap those closest to him.

While Tory’s Quarantine Radio was popular, it’s hard to compete with someone as controversial as 6ix9ine. Hernandez has been shrouded in controversy since the start of his career, and it only heated up with his publicized court case last year.
