Meredith Eaton earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology and she claims it gave her a better ability to understand character dynamics and to prepare for her acting roles. In 1999, she attended an open casting call for the comedy film Unconditional Love, which turned out to be the beginning of her quite successful acting career. She became the first female dwarf to fill a regular role in an American prime-time series when she accepted the role of Emily Resnick on the CBS television series Family Law.
She was married to her fellow actor, Michael Gilden, from 2001 until 2006 when he committed suicide. In 2008, she got married again to her current husband, Brian S. Gordon, with whom she shared a daughter.
She is also an advocate of animal rights and is active in several animal rights organizations and campaigns.
