White participated in the football and track teams at Scotland High School during his high school years.

Before rupturing his ACL in the second round of the state playoffs, White, a senior, received the Sam B. Nicola Award as the national high school player of the year and ran for 2,086 yards (14.1 yards per carry) and 34 touchdowns.

A unanimous top-five prospect at running back, White chose to play college football at Georgia over offers from Ohio State, Alabama, Clemson, and North Carolina.

White suffered a second torn ACL during summer training camp, forcing him to redshirt his true freshman year. In a 63–17 victory over Murray State on September 7, 2019, White ran for eighty yards and scored his first touchdown of his collegiate career.

In the 2020 Sugar Bowl game against Baylor, he gained 92 yards and one touchdown through rushes on eighteen carries a season-high. Upon 78 carries, White concluded his redshirt freshman season with 408 yards and three touchdowns, along with two 20-yard receptions.

White led Georgia in rushing with 779 yards and 11 touchdowns on 144 carries during the cut-shortened 2020 campaign.

With 856 yards and 11 touchdowns on 160 carries in 2021, White once again led the Georgia running backs, a platoon that also included James Cook, Kenny McIntosh, and Kendall Milton. White filed his application for the 2022 NFL Draft on January 14, 2022.

The Las Vegas Raiders selected White 122nd overall in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. White signed his rookie contract with the Raiders on June 8, 2022. In 14 games as a rookie, White had 17 carries for 70 yards.
