Jack Antonoff; the name you know but don’t know. You know it because it’s so familiar to you. You know you just saw or heard that name somewhere; but where? It’s not one that’s a household name just yet, but it’s being whispered enough around the globe that it’s just a matter of time before he’s a household name that we all utter on a regular basis. So where is he from and what does he do? Well, he’s in a band and he’s a songwriter. But most people recognize him as the man behind actress Lena Dunham; the boyfriend. Sadly, that’s his most famous role at the moment. Not-so-sadly, this little fact is making it possible for him to become even more famous that much faster, so we’re sure he doesn’t mind the fact that he’s gaining a little extra notoriety from that. But just who is he and what’s he up to? What are we going to know him for? If you’re not yet that familiar with Jack Antonoff, let us help you learn a bit more about him.
He Helps Write Taylor Swift Music
If he’s anything in his life, he’s a songwriter; and a very good one. He’s collaborated with Taylor Swift, and he’s good at what he does. That hit song she sings from her mega-popular new album 1989, “Into the Woods,” is a song he worked on with the pop star. So, he’s writing some good music, which is going to keep his name relevant.
He’s a Golden Globe Nominee
He and Taylor Swift got together to collaborate on “Sweeter Than Fiction,” for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe. He did not win the award, but sometimes just being nominated for something so prestigious is all that matters to someone who is just getting started on his career. At least, that’s how we think we’d feel if we were nominated for an award like this.
He Really wants Kids
He’s going to be 31 in 2015, and he really wants kids. He’s been quoted several times in interviews as saying he’s “desperate” for children of his own, stating that he’s in his 30s and not that young anymore. He also said something along the lines of never having met in anyone in his life who has had anything other than wonderful things to say about parenting. Good for you, Mr. Antonoff.
