He obtained a position as a meteorologist at WFTV, the ABC affiliate in Orlando, Florida, for four years after graduating with a degree in television and radio communications. He also served as the head meteorologist for Cincinnati, Ohio’s WCPO-TV, an ABC affiliate, from 1996 to 2005. Through his exclusive coverage of the terrible Tornado of ’99, Pete established himself as the “severe weather leader” in Cincinnati. During this time, he won numerous awards, including two Associated Press (AP) Awards for outstanding regularly scheduled weather.
