  • Henry first came into the spotlight when he amassed 454 runs at a stellar average of 75.66 runs per inning in the 2014-15 season of the Ford Trophy (New Zealand’s premier domestic List A competition).
  • In January 2019, in the last match of a 3-match bilateral home ODI series against Sri Lanka, he scored his maiden ODI century, more than 3 years after making his ODI debut in December 2015. Henry scored 124 runs not out off just 80 balls to help New Zealand reach a mighty total of 364 runs which was good enough for New Zealand to win the match by 115 runs and, consequently, the series by a 3-0 margin.
  • Ross Taylor also scored a century in this match (137 runs off 131 balls) and became the first New Zealander to reach the mark of 20 centuries in any format of the game. New Zealand’s series aggregate of 1,054 runs was the then most for any team in a 3-match bilateral ODI series, surpassing India’s total of 1,053 runs in their home series against England in 2017.
  • In April 2019, Henry was named to New Zealand’s squad for the 2019 ICC (International Cricket Council) Cricket World Cup. In the final match of the tournament, the team’s 2nd such appearance (the first was in 2015), he top-scored for New Zealand with 55 runs. The game, arguably one of the greatest cricket matches of all time, ended with scores tied and had to be decided via a tie-breaking ‘super over’ which, in bizarre circumstances, also got tied. England was declared the victor based on a highly controversial ‘boundary countback’ rule. This was the first time that a ‘super over’ was used to determine the winner of an ODI match. It was also the first ‘super over’ in history to have finished in a tie.
